For this job the customer had chosen a mosaic travertine tile which comes on a mesh usually 12″ x 12″. With natural stone tiles they are a more time consuming material to work with and do require a little more care than ceramic tiles. Because natural stone is a porous material and to try and prevent marking, the tiles need to be coated with the relevant sealer and allowed to dry for usually 12 hours before grouting.
Even though these types of tiles do need more attention from yourselves, the finished effect is worth it.
